Bunny Banner Printable + Tutorial

NURSERY BUNNY BANNER display

I know that Easter is 2 days away, and this is a little last minute for Easter, but this project is also great for baby showers and nurseries! So pin this one for later.

I love how this bunny banner turned out, and it was so fun to put together. I will be honest, it is a little tedious with all of the paper flowers I made, but the end result looks whimsical and makes a great decoration for Easter, baby shower, or nursery! Here is what you’re going to need:

Materials:

White Cardstock + Bunny Banner Printable

Gold Cardstock (1 is plenty!)

Colored Cardstock + Paper Flowers (Check out these tutorials)

Glue + Hot Glue Gun

String + Tape

Optional: Tiny pearls for extra embellishment for your flowers found at your local craft store.

Bunny Banner

The very first thing I did was make all of my flowers. My flowers are smaller than many of the tutorials I found, and one way you can make the flowers smaller on some of the templates is to reduce the percentage on the Print Window that pops up before you print. Or, if you have a Cricut, you can adjust the size there with your file.

BUNNY BANNER TUTORIAL

Print out your Bunny Printable on white cardstock. You will see on the printable there is an ear (it prints on every page) for you to trace on the back of the Gold Cardstock. After you’ve cut out the center of the ears from the gold cardstock, glue them in the middle of the ears as pictured above.

Then, hot glue the flowers and position them the at the top of the bunny’s head. Add additional embellishments in the middle of the flowers. String them together, hang it up and admire your work!

April 2017 Desktop Calendar

April Desktop Calendar

There are times where I am stuck and can not come up with something to design or just can’t think up what I’m going to do next. I recently received an e-mail from a reader asking if I would do a wallpaper calendar or quote for computers. This was such a great idea, I was so excited to start creating and ended up turning it into a calendar and a quote. I plan on having new designs every month, and will do my best to get a new design out a couple days before the month ends, so make sure you check back for next month’s!

I’m always looking for new ideas, so if you don’t see something on my blog that you’re looking for, shoot me an e-mail and I’ll see what I can do!

Easter Gift Tags TreatsAs it seems to with every year, this year is going by fast. I cannot believe we are already at the end of March! With March ending, Easter is just around the corner and I love this time of year. Warmer weather is making its way (if it ever does in Washington), flowers and blossoms are blooming, and of course Easter (and all it’s yummy candy that is all over the store shelves). Cadbury eggs are my weakness… I literally cannot take a small handful and be done with it… I at least eat half the bag. I bought a bag of Cadbury eggs last week, and it was gone in two days. I tried to explain to my husband that I was trying to be good, but I have no will power when it comes to those darn eggs, and sometimes my efforts for giving away Easter goodies are non existent.

Lego Super Hero Party + Banner Printable

Lego-Avenger-Party

The past month and half has been crazy in our family. We celebrated JD’s 6th birthday, and two days later our daughter had surgery, and I have just been trying to play catch up with everything else. Thankfully, our daughter has recovered quickly and has done so well with everything. Trying to get back to a normal schedule has been tough, but we are slowly getting there!

JD has been into Legos lately, and it’s not hard to see why, especially with the new Batman Lego Movie out. I had other things going on, so I tried to keep this party pretty low key. Luckily I still had this backdrop I made for a Trunk or Treat last Halloween. I wanted to throw it away since I didn’t think we were going to use it again, but I’m glad my husband convinced me otherwise! Using a box cutter, I cut out different shapes from a tri-fold board (for science projects) then painted it black, and cut out yellow squares from construction paper. I used diaper boxes (on the sides) and taped them together, and painted them black and used the yellow construction paper again for the windows.

I learned how to make the colored circles from a friend, and they are so easy to do! I used a circle cutter like this one and sewed the circles one after the other so that they’re still on the same thread. I also found this awesome Lego “Happy Birthday Banner” here. And since I couldn’t find any other Lego Avenger printables, I made some for the party which you can download those HERE.

To save some money with balloons, I bought a pack at the dollar store, blew them up at home and hung them upside down from the ceiling over the table. I had balloons left over and left them all over the floor. It was a huge hit with all the kids… I’m pretty sure that was their favorite part of the whole party. I also had some extra boxes laying around and wrapped those up in colored paper that I found at the $1 store and cut out little circles and used them as a centerpiece for the table so they looked like big Lego pieces.

I found a list of great of games over at Play.Party.Plan. JD had been asking to have a pinata for a while at his party, and we finally gave in. Five and six year olds are pretty dang strong, because that pinata did not last long. We probably should’ve blindfolded them or something to make it harder! Now we know for next year!

I made a Lego cake, but I am not a cake decorater, so I will spare you the hideousness of how it looked. Let’s just say it was a major Pinterest fail! Overall, these kids had a great time and I can’t wait to plan the next party!

Pirate Valentine’s Day Printables

PIRATE VALENTINESMy boys love the Chips Ahoy cookies, and ask for them almost every time they see them at the store. Normally the answer is a no, but every once in a while I need a little something sweet, so I cave in. Since they love it so much, I thought it would be fun for my kindergartner to pass them out to his class for Valentine’s day and made these fun little pirate Valentines to go along with the cookies.

If you have a little pirate lover at home or have little ones that love these cookies as much as my kiddos, these will be fun for them to pass out to their friends. Grab your Pirate Valentine’s Day Printable and wrap it around a snack bag size of the cookies with bakers twine or string and you’re all set! I’ve also made a smaller version of the printable HERE.

DIY Valentine’s Day Foil Print

DIY Valentine's Day Foil Print

I was pulling out some of my Valentine’s Day decorations this past week and realized I how little I had. I’ll be honest, I have never been too worried about going all out for Valentine’s day, but this time I felt like there were parts of my house that could use a little more “love”.  I wanted to be a little bit more crafty with this one, and took out my Minc and started to come up with some different ideas. This print was one that stuck and it has been a fun addition in my house!

If you’re looking to add another decoration in your home, here’s what you’ll need:

Materials:

Valentine's Foil Project Wall Art

Start by turning on your Minc (I usually set mine at a 3). Print out page one of the XOXO Printable and cut out a piece of the hot pink foil so it fits over the letters.

Valentine's Foil Project 00

Place your foil on top of the X’s and stick it inside the foil transfer folders. Once it’s in place, run it through the Minc.

Valentine's Foil Project Part 01

Peel off the foil after it’s gone through and and put it back into your printer making sure it’s facing the right way so that it will print out page 2 of the XOXO printable.

Valentine's Foil project 1 copy

If you’ve printed it correctly, you’re page should look like this. If you didn’t, that’s ok. It took me a couple tries to get this right…

Valentine's Foil Project Wall Art7

Do another rough cut of your light pink foil this time and set it on top. If you’re adding the gold foil to the “hugs & kisses” this would be the best time to do it. I’ve found that putting it through the Minc as little as possible helps keep from distorting the foil that was there previously.

Valentine's Foil Wall Art

Once that’s through, peel off the remainder of your foil and stick your new piece of decor in a frame and admire it.

If you don’t have a Minc, not to worry! I’ve also made the same printable in color HERE. If you’re looking to buy a Minc, they’re available at Joann’s, Michaels, Amazon, and many other stores.

Hot Chocolate Valentines Printable

hot chocolate valentines day card

It has been a cold winter for us in Washington. Last week, it was so cold they pushed back school 2 hours due to ice on the road, and my kindergartner already starts school at 9:15. It was a crazy week, and all this cold has made me want lots hot chocolate. We love hot chocolate in our house and my kids get pretty excited to drink it whenever we have a chili morning. With Valentine’s Day coming up and knowing it will still be pretty cold, I thought it would be fun to put the two together! And as many of my printables, it’s easy to assemble.

Here’s what you’ll need:

hot chocolate valentine

Screen Shot 2017-01-16 at 9.10.31 PM1. When printing out the printable, make sure you DO NOT hit “Fit to Page” “Fit to Scale” in your printer settings when you print. This will throw off how you cut your printable and the print on the front will not be centered. Make sure you select “Actual Size”.

2. Cut down the middle of the page and fold it in half – for those of you who still remember the elementary term “hamburger style”.

3. After you’ve folded your print in half, unfold it and tape your hot chocolate at the top (and bottom if you prefer, mine stayed intact with just one) of the inside.

4. Fold it back up and tape it shut at the top with washi tape, and totally optional – place some washi tape at the bottom to give it a little extra something. And that’s it!

If you prefer to save some paper, I’ve also included a page of tags to print off and you can wrap a tag around a packet of hot chocolate with bakers twin or use the washi tape to put on the front of your packet.

Printable Goal Setting Worksheet

*Updated: I have added the 2018-2020 Goal Setting Worksheet below!

Happy 2017! Another year flew by and it was full of great memories for our family. We welcomed our baby girl in July, our oldest started kindergarten, our second child got promoted to big brother and is no longer the baby, we took a family trip to Dallas for a friend’s wedding, and my husband and I celebrated our 7th anniversary! We’ve had many things to be thankful for and I’m looking forward to 2017!

With a new year, we welcome new challenges and new goals. Thanks to a reader in search of an annual goal printable, I’ve come up with this worksheet for you in hopes that it will be a helpful reminder of what goal(s) you’ve set for yourself this year. The past few years, making a New Years resolution has always been on the back burner. I had always felt I’d been setting myself up to fail, but after listening to a couple talks at church, it was a great reminder why we need to set goals for ourselves. It’s important to have something to work towards, and to help make us better. There are many things that I can improve on, and this year I’m going to do my best to make those imperfections a little bit less of an imperfection. 🙂

If you’re looking for something to help you reach your goal, these printables are the perfect thing to help remind you to accomplish it! They’re cute enough to hang in your home or office, and remind you everyday what you’re striving for.

Night Before Christmas Gift Tags

I’m know we’re not the only ones, but it has always been a tradition in my home for each kid to open up one gift on Christmas Eve, our choice. It was so fun, and made it that much more exciting to see what was left under our tree the next morning. My husband’s family also got to open one gift before Christmas, but they were always pajamas. When I joined their family, I loved the idea that you would be getting a new set of pajamas each year (or every other year – that’s how we’ve worked out Thanksgiving and Christmas with our families).

While still carrying on my families tradition of opening one gift on Christmas Eve, I’ve converted to my husbands family tradition with making it a new set of pajamas each year for my kids. In order to figure out which gift our kids get to open the night before Christmas, I’ve made these gift tags to make it easier to find. You will no longer need to make extra notes on your gift tags reminding you to “OPEN ME ON CHRISTMAS EVE,” buy an extra roll of wrapping paper to determine which ones are the “night before Christmas” gifts (unless you enjoy doing that which isn’t a bad idea) or set them aside in another room until it’s time open.

I’d love to see how you decorate your gifts using these gift tags on Instagram or Facebook! I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!
