Spooky Treats Cricut Project

Halloween-Spooky-Treats-Cricut-Project

It’s been too long since my last post! My family and I moved to Texas two months ago, and I’ve made it back into the world of working full time, and things have been busy! But, I’ve finally managed to share a fun and quick project that is easy to pull off with your Cricut!

I love decorating our house for the holidays, and although my kids will probably end up getting too much chocolate for Halloween, it’s fun to display some Halloween candy in the home in this little jar. You can also take this into the office or gift it to a friend. Here’s how easy this project is:

Materials:

“Spooky Treats” cut out file

Small Vase (or jar, make sure there is a smooth glass surface)

Gold Foil Adhesive

Cricut

Download the “Spooky Treats” cut out file, and load it into your Cricut Design Space. Determine the size of your vase and how big you’d like the cut out to be. Once the file has been cut out, place the adhesive onto your vase/jar and smooth out as much of the bubbles as you can (this is probably the only hard part). Fill up your jar with fun size candy, and you’re all done!

I like using these calendars to keep my family organized with upcoming events, whether it be sports, birthday parties or a family outing that we’ve planned. My favorite thing about the portrait Printable Calendars are always the notes at the bottom. I’m reminded each month of what I need to do and if there are things that I need to get, especially snacks for my kiddo’s class.

July-Desktop-Wallpaper-and-Printables

I love this time of year, and I especially love seeing the red, white & blue colors everywhere! I wanted to incorporate it in this month’s wallpaper, and am excited to share this design with you.

I’ve been MIA a lot this month because we’ve been busy getting our house ready to sell. Thankfully the market where we live is hot right now and our house sold quickly, and having been dealing with all that goes on with selling a house. We are beginning our moving process and wanted to get these wallpapers out early this month before all the real craziness begins.

The month of July is a busy one for us as we will be basically taking a month long vacation to visit family, amusement parks, and a long road trip to Texas where we will be setting in some new roots there. My husband is transitioning out of the Army and we are excited (and slightly nervous) about this next step in our lives, but we will be close to family and that’s what we are most excited about!

What are some things you are looking forward to in July? I hope you all are having a safe and wonderful summer!

June Wallpaper + Printables

June-Wallpaper-and-Printables.png

We are all excited about summer in our household, anyone else? My kids are counting down the days until they are done with school and are ready to do anything but school. We have a lot going on for the month of June, we are getting ready to sell our house, pack, and getting ready for our big move down to Texas. I’m not sure I’m ready for the hot and humidity, but at least they have air conditioning in their homes. We currently live in Washington, and are without air conditioning so when it’s hot it’s hot in our house too. But here’s to a new adventure!

For this month’s printable I wanted to make it bright since summer is just around the corner! Here’s to a fun and memorable summer!

Summer Reading Log + Punch Card Printable

Reading is so important in your child’s lives and this Summer Reading Log + Punch Card Printable is the perfect way to keep your kids motivated with reading this summer. Reward them once they’ve completed a punch card, and have them record which books they’ve read and which ones have been their favorite to read.

Reading Log and Reading Punch Card Printables

During the summer, all my kids want to do is play video games and go on their iPad. They were definitely encouraged to do other things before they could use their electronics last year, but they always needed help coming up with things to do, it kind of drove me nuts. This summer, I’m going to help motivate them to read in a fun way with this Summer Reading Log + Punch Card Printable.

If your kids do not enjoy reading, or need something else to do instead of playing video games, this will be a huge help! Use the reading log to help your child remember their favorite books by coloring in stars in the rating column. Depending on your child’s age, you can either have them read for a certain amount of time during the day, like 20 mins, before they get a hole in their punch card, or base it on the number of books they’ve read.

Summer Reading Log Printable

The punch cards can also be used as a bookmark for those older readers.

Before you begin, you should each agree on a prize together. Some ideas could include:

  • King sized candy bar
  • New toy
  • A special outing to a museum, Chuck E. Cheese, etc.
  • Going to the movies
  • New book
  • New game
  • Root Beer Float Night
  • S’mores Night

Whatever inspires you’re kids and something you don’t do very often.

Summer Reading Log and Punch Card

For those young readers who don’t enjoy reading, we’ve found that letting our kids pick their books, even if they are silly ones like Captain Underpants and Dog Man, have helped encourage our kids to read more. My kids also like reading books that have been made into movies and like comparing the two together. It might even be fun to create a fort (if you don’t already have one) where the kids have a designated space to read where it is comfy and cozy.

There are 2 different punch cards, one has 14 dots and the other has 10 dots to hopefully accommodate everyone’s needs.

Reading is great and I hope that you’re able to motivate your kids to read this summer!

May Wallpapers + Printables

This cheerful May wallpaper is sure to make your day feel brighter! With Spring in the air and summer just around the corner, this wallpaper will make you excited for those long summer days and may make you crave some lemonade.

May-Desktop-Wallpaper-and-Printables

A new month of wallpapers + printables are finally here! The last part of March was a busy one as we welcomed a new puppy to our family and Spring Break was the first week of April! I knew puppies would be hard, but I was not expecting it to be this hard, especially with our youngest being under 2. I’ve finally learned to adjust to our new schedule and am excited to share May’s wallpaper.

I loved the way the lemon background looked in the Teacher’s Appreciation Gift Tag post, and wanted to keep that bright feeling in this month’s wallpaper. We are finally starting to see some sun in Washington and wanted to keep those warm colors as a reminder that summer is almost here and those warmer days will be here any day! I hope you love this wallpaper as much as I do!

Teacher Appreciation Day Gift Ideas + Printables

Looking for a creative gift idea for your child’s teacher for Teacher Appreciation Day? These fruity puns are a silly and fun way to make your teacher smile and know how much they are appreciated with a simple gift.

Teacher-Appreciation-Day-Gift-Ideas-and-Printables

Teachers work so hard during the school year to keep those young minds busy and actively learning. I am constantly amazed at how much my boys have learned and I owe it all to their teachers! I love hearing about their day and what they’ve been learning about when they get home from school, and I am always shocked that these teachers are able to go the whole day without loosing their cool. I can barely handle my own three kids for the whole day! Teachers have 20+ kids to work with and think they are amazing, if you ask me! Show them some love on Teacher Appreciation week May 7-11 with these easy gift ideas.

Lemon Teachern Appreciation Day Gift Tags

Lemon Teacher Gift Idea and Tag.jpg

This Lemon Gift tag pairs perfectly with some lemonade packets in a mason jar. While I was browsing through Walmart, I noticed that the Pioneer Woman had these cute Mason Jar lids with holes in them for straws. How cute is that? If you have more than one teacher to buy for (or you’d like to keep the rest of the lids for yourself) buy a pack of mason jars and lids with straws and you can mark this off as a completely affordable gift idea, and adds a cute touch! (There are so many great ways to use mason jars!)

Melon Teacher Appreciation Gift Tag

I love a fresh smelling house, and I’m sure you’re teacher will too! I have to be honest, this candle scent wasn’t labeled “watermelon” on it, but it smelled pretty darn close to it! I took the tag off and added this watermelon tag, and now no one will ever know it’s not watermelon (except for you of course!) Ribbons make everything look prettier, and pairing the gift tag with a big ribbon makes all the difference!

Strawberry Teacher Appreciation Gift Tags

Last, but certainly not least is the strawberry gift tag! I’ve always had a love for the strawberry filled candy, and it worked great with these gift tags! Fill up a mason jar with these little guys and keep your teacher happy the whole day when she needs a little pick me up. If you have a big mason jar and not enough candy to fill it up, a fun and sneaky little way to fill up the jar is to add an empty toilet or paper towel roll in the middle of the jar and fill the candy around it. Add a note from your child in the middle of the roll like this Thank You Note to Teacher printable and they’ll have a happy little surprise!

Mother’s Day is quickly approaching and this Mother’s Day Booklet is a fun and beautiful way to let their mom and grandmas know how much they mean to them. Grab your washi tape and place it on the edge of the book so that it covers the staples, and also so that a little less than half of the tape is left on the side of the book like pictured above. Do this to both sides of the book.
